In the Kaunas Free Economic Zone (FEZ), a major step in industrial development has just been completed – the Freda IV warehouse, covering more than 60,000 m². It is a modern building designed with sustainability in mind: awarded an A++ energy performance rating, equipped with a 500 kW rooftop solar power plant, an infrared heating system, and intelligent lighting controls.
What makes this project especially impressive is the speed and precision – it was completed in less than a year. Its distinctive character comes from the architectural choice of vertically installed, non-standard sandwich façade panels, giving the building a striking and contemporary look. To support smooth operations, the site also includes generous logistics space with 145 car parking places and 53 for heavy vehicles.
At Peikko Lietuva, we are glad to have played an important role in making this project a reality. We manufactured and delivered 1,439 tons of steel structures – everything from roof and façade elements to staircases, canopies, fire escape ladders, and various internal assemblies. Alongside this, our well-proven solutions such as WELDA® Anchor Plates, HPM® Anchor Bolts, PETRA® Slab Hangers, and the BESISTA® Tension Rod System were widely applied throughout the construction.
Together with the general contractor YIT Lietuva, we ensured that assembly on site went smoothly, on schedule, and exactly as planned. Freda IV is a clear example of how modern engineering solutions and strong collaboration can successfully deliver large-scale, future-ready industrial facilities.
